Reflection of Unit 4

Unit reflection: Pop Culture and Music

This unit was so interesting and fun. I kind of emotional person. If I listen to music, I cannot just sit. When I go to a concert, I usually like to sing and dance. Music makes me happy and sad. Sometimes even I cried when I listen to music. Also, I need to think deep, I prefer to listen to classical music. Kind of emotional person. After I get married, I start to listen to music more than before because my husband really likes enjoying listen to songs. For me, I am not that person to follow every new song. I usually pick my favorite songs and I like to repeat again and again. From this unit, I learned new genres of music, such as blues, meme, and urban folk. Also, I found out how to find new songs. I really liked www.iheard.com, and it is so useful and free. I never tried before. In class discussion section time, we shared with our group members “Which genre music now people most interested?”  I found out most of the people like listen to pop songs, and their traditional songs. This section reading was so challenging. However, now we know why the pop song sounds similar, and a history of blues and rap music. Actually, my AHA moment was to know about some new songs created for a purpose, and it is not just songwriters feeling and intelligent.
